Internet Marketing Training: Sales, By The Numbers

I've been doing a little research here on the IBO platform, via a paid ad leading to a questionaiire, as well as through individual one-on-one contacts. My research has confirmed what I felt was true all along, the biggest challenge for most independent business owners is targeted traffic, or qualified leads. You can call them whatever you want, ultimately it comes down to getting your offer in front of enough eyeballs. IBO can help generate some traffic, as can other social sites such as Facebook or Instagram. I've personally even resorted to paid traffic before, from Bing Ads to Rebrandable Traffic and the like. Ultimately, we all want free traffic though, right?


In my experience, there are two things we can invest in, in order to get traffic to any business. Those two things are time and money. Sometimes we have to do both. But I think that people who are short on cash *must* invest the time to advertise. Only then they can still make whatever they are doing work. But it can be slow going. My own results changed significantly once I was able to invest a little money into advertising. Free is good, it just takes longer. Sometimes, a lot longer. So the question becomes, how much can you invest vs. how long are you wiling to wait?


The second issue that comes up a lot is inactive vs active associates. I would say this is a challenge industry-wide. Don't internalize it though. It's not you, it's them! Memorize the mantra "Some will, some won't so what! Next!" Recruiting is a never-ending battle and to be honest, it's like sales in many other arenas - it's a numbers game. Each company will be different. Each traffic source will be different. But you should be able to, after a while, see some averages and know how many you need to find your active associates.


For example, in my primary business (Strong Future International), it takes about 100 clicks to my best landing page to convert into 1 free sign-up. Then, out of 100 free sign-ups, I've found that I average 1 active person. That *still* doesn't mean they will be my 5 heavy hitters I'm looking for! So, I keep advertising and promoting. I know by the law of averages and how sales numbers work, that it WILL happen. I just have to hit the right numbers.
