You may think I am a crazy. Most of the world thinks I’m crazy. I want to tell you somehting, “I love Mondays” is not just a saying to me. It is a way of life. I love Mondays because on every Monday I get to move my professional goals forward in a big way. I have created my week in such a way that I get to do my most important work on Mondays. I love to achieve my goals. I love to get more clients. I love to work on my speeches. I love to write. I love to do my podcast. The big question here is can you see a way for your employees to love Mondays too. If they did, you know they are engaged with their work. They are aligned with their contribution and growth. Today, I share with you insights on how to get your employees to say “I love Mondays.”

I Love Mondays – Why You Should Too: The Transcript

Do you love Mondays? Do you really love to wake up after a weekend where you’ve rested to get back to work? If you’re an entrepreneur of if you’re a leader that’s doing something big in this world, you probably love Mondays.

I created these stickers, you can see it right here, I love Monday. That is true. And a lot of people think it’s crazy. My 11 year old thinks I’m absolutely insane for loving Mondays. I found this actual one in the trash because he thought it was trash.

Now, I wanna ask you a question as a leader. What would it be like if your employees loved Monday as much as you do? What would it be like if they loved the work that they were doing and the experience that they had while they were there and so that everyday they showed up, they were engaged, they were thinking about adding value to the business, they were thinking about how things could grow. Sounds pretty, doesn’t it? Well, I’m gonna tell you about how to do that in just a moment.

My name’s Gene Hammett, I work with hypergrowth companies and their leaders and their leadership team to help them understand the challenges of growth, help them create their leadership and culture as a competitive advantage. This is the word I do. I study all the top growing companies in America called the Inc. 5000, I call it the hypergrowth. These are the one percent of the companies growing at the fastest level. Some of these companies are growing 3x and 2x and 10x. I talked to a company a few interviews, they grew over three years 39 thousand percent and plus. Think about that for a second. Now, what could we learn from that level of growth? Well, the companies that are growing at that level, those leaders actually love Monday.

They love Monday, like I do, and so if you are challenged by Mondays, you don’t really love it as much as I do, then this is for you. But if you are a leader where you wanna engage your people to love Mondays, then this is really for you. Because loving Mondays is this understanding that the work that you do fulfills you. That it adds meaning to your life.

Now if you think it doesn’t, it’s hard to love Mondays. It’s hard to spend your time engaged with the work that you’re doing at the level that entrepreneurs do. I really think that of all the studies I’ve done, that the companies that get people to think like entrepreneurs, that are adding value to the work and the project that they’re doing, really are accelerating faster than any of the companies out there. That’s the one percent.

That is a sense of ownership and the I love Mondays is just a symbol behind that because those entrepreneurs love Mondays ’cause they’re moving their projects forward, they’re making more money, they’re making more of an impact in the world, they’re doing what they’re supposed to be doing. How do you get your employees to think that way? We give them work that adds meaning to their life. You give them work that allows them to grow, get new experiences, you provide education or training that allows them to learn new skills. You provide leadership that gives transformational moments where you ask them questions like what are you afraid of now? What doubt do you need to overcome?

You need to talk about their level of confidence. That level of transformation allows them to see that you’re fully engaged, that you care about them and that you are a leader that is more than just about the numbers, that you really do care about the employees and that individual person. And the more you do that, the more in tune you are with getting them the work that provides them meaning, providing their sense of contribution to this and leading them to show that you truly do care about them, that transformation, you will get people that love Mondays as well. And if you do, then send me a message around this and if you love Mondays, send me that message too because I will send you a sticker, I’ve got plenty of them. I’ll get more printed if I need to because my mission in life is to make sure that people love Mondays and this video is to help you understand why it drives me but also how you could do it for yourself and do it for your team.

So if you love Mondays, ask me for a sticker. Just send me an email at gene@genehammett.com. Find me on social media, I’d love to send you this sticker. All right, until then, take care and as always, lead with courage.
