3 Ways To Build Rapport With A Potential Prospect

It is not easy to build rapport with a potential prospect...

The are 3 main things you need to start doing right now to start building trust with your prospects, no matter what type of business model you are currently in.

#1 Know your target market 

There is no way on earth you can understand the needs of your prospect unless you know exactly who they are.  I am probably sure that your products are great, but how do you know if they are a fit for your customer?

Do you due diligence and research who your customers are.  Find out where they hang out, and see what questions they are asking.  If you know what questions they ask, it will be easier for you to provide a solution.

Guess what providing solutions does for your relationship with your potential client?

It builds TRUST…

Ask yourself who you are more likely to buy from, someone you trust and know that is anticipating your needs with solutions?


A pushy pitchy salesman?

# 2.  Get an Autoresponder and start building your list 

Now that you know who your prospect is, it is time you start building your list. I am assuming that you are building your business online, because there are approximately 4 billion Internet users, and you will have tons of more exposure.

Whatever business it is that you are promoting or building, send your prospects to a capture page, collect their email before sending them to a presentation.

If you do not do this, you will leave money on the table and come back to this post.

The main reason why you want to collect your prospect’s email, is so that you can follow up with them.  Most of the time a person won’t buy the first time you expose them to your business.

A lot of times there are going about their life and forget, or it is simply not the right time or even the right fit.

You can follow up by sending emails that provide value, and you will build rapport#

 # 3  Find a platform and create some content

When I say platform, I am NOT saying to turn your Facebook Profile into a product commercial.

Please don’t do that…

The most effect way to build rapport with your prospect is by creating content that provides the solutions they they need.

Think of it this way…

If you don’t do it, someone else will…

Content is and will always be KING.

It is a bit long term but that shouldn’t really matter because it takes years to build a profitable business anyway.

Remember when I mentioned doing research?

That is where your content creation comes in….

Do a keyword research, and create content in a blog post and/or video.

Share that content on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google +,, Linked In…etc

Do your very best to get as much eyeballs on that content as possible…

Here is what is going to happen over time if you are consistent…

Depending on the content that you share, people are going to start engaging with you.

Especially if you are doing videos…

I don’t know if you noticed but Youtubers are super influential, and popular.

You’ll be branding yourself and building credibility.

If you are building your business offline, you still need to do your market research, but if you just happen to be having a conversation…

Always ask open ended questions that will allow you to get to know your prospect.

Compliment them and find common ground.

I learned that leading with value instead of a sales pitch is one is how you “build rapport” with your prospect.
