Top 10 Superfoods to manage stress

As promised here are the highlights of my recent presentation on the Top 10 Superfoods to manage stress>

1) What is stress?

Stress is basically a bodily response to a perceived or real threat that motivates you to focus on a task/take action and solve a probme.

Small amounts of stress can be good because it motivates you to take actoin however high and consistently elevated levels of stress can be unhelpful and cause you to feel overwhelmed. It can also lead to wear and tear and negative manifestions in different parts of your body and mind such as back pain, tension headaches, high blood pressure, gas and heart burn. These types of manifestions may then ead to different diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, cancer and diabetes due to a high leve of free radicals in the body.


2)What is a superfood?

A Superfood is basically an extremely nutrient rich food that packs a large dose of antioxidants, vitamins and mineraals that are required for healthy body function and maintenance.


3)What types of superfoods are most effective in helping to ease stress?

The key word or property here is Adaptogens or Adaptogenic properties. Superfoods that have adaptogens are best in helping to ease stress as they work with your body to help you adapt to stress. There are a natural substance that combat against that persistent stress and the related fatigue.
