 | | lol, Jana - that's my favourite part, too! |
| |
 | | Being accountable for yourself is probably the biggest challenge. :) But once you get that figured out. It is so worth it! Especially the "working in your PJ's"! |

| |
 | | Awesome blog! People want to work from home and have the same guarantees they have at their job, which comes with no guarantees. One day you have a job, the next you don't. It happens. |
| |
 | | You pointed out a lot of very important facets of working at home. It is not "the easy way out" that some people hope it is, and it can be a lot harder to be accountable for yourself than to let a boss tell you what to do. Good stuff Bev! |
| |
 | | Very wise words, Ed. I really appreciate you voicing your opinion on this topic. |
| |
 | | Thanks for your comment, David! I love what I do - working from home has brought such joy and peace into my life. |

| |
 | | Thanks for sharing this great info Bev. I do believe that I will check it out further. |
| |
 | | Great pointers Bev! One needs to assess one's options. Ultimately, in these days of insecurity, and corporate unloyalty, one should opt to work for self and work hard for self to insure success, independence and to be able to pass something on to the future generations. Choose well what program will be the vehicle of your dreams! Thanks Bev for sharing! |
| |
 | | I appreciate your comment, Gabriel! Much success to you :) |
| |
 | | Thanks fro commenting, Pam! We sure know there are pitfalls when working from home, don't we? But the rewards are well worth it! |
| |
 | | Love your comment, Wendy! That's exactly what this is. And, yes, there is, of course, that added benefit of long, undisturbed sleep - no alarm clocks - yay!! |

| |
 | | Bev - another GREAT post. You really hit the nail on the head with your facts, your advantages and the things being given up. This is a must read for anyone considering working from home. Thanks for sharing!! |
| |
 | | Thanks Bev. I realize all that you have to compare with. And I say Yea |
| |
 | | hmm interesting post Ms.Bev! |
| |
 | | You're right, Don. You certainly learn a lot about your own limitations when you work from home - lots of dedication to self-improvement is required :) |
| |
 | | Thanks for publishing my article, Nick - much appreciated! That is some achievement - to work such long hours after a full day's work. I do admire your tenacity :) |
| |
 | | Great going, Zita - you have the entrepreneurial spirit :) |
| |
 | | Thanks for your comment, Jann - I'm pleased you found this blog useful |
| |
 | | Yes, Antonio, I agree with you - working from home is not for everyone - especially not suitable for those who need continual guidance |
| |
 | | Great blog ~ I took work from home and you hit the nail right on the head! |
| |
 | | Again Bev you hit it out of the park. It's worth the struggle, as this is a personal development journey wrapped in a Home-business vehicle! I love wakin' up when I'm done sleepin' =) |
| |
 | | Great article Bev, working for ones self from home is a true test of character. You may just learn why your your old boss was "that way". It is truly a learn and growing process. Thanks for sharing. T&L |
| |
 | | Robert, I think all of us have gone through that at some stage. Sometimes it just seems too difficult and it seems it would be better to return to the corporate world. But the corporate world - she ain't what she used to be!! Hang in there - remain focused on your objective and succeed! |
| |
 | | Great Article Bev, I put it in "The Villager Daily" I have a day job and I spend 4 to 6 hours after work on my Internet Business. So yes it involves time and money. Like you said it's a business. |
| |
 | | I work at home on the computer and i do not work for anyone but my self
and i enjoy it . I did leave a job several years ago but i have a back up enjoying selling Antique Jewelry, and Vintage glassware at Flea Markets thats my passion and second my vintage closet and then my groceries helping others |
| |
 | | Hi Bev, thanks for sharing; great posting |
| |
 | | Thanks, Jones - just trying to point out that you do actually have to focus when working from home, set yourself targets etc as if you were working for a boss! |
| |
 | | Nice post Bev. Working from home is not for everyone and many of your points should cause some to reevaluate their positions. Having the right mindset and being disciplined is key, and I've found that many need the restrictions of being an employee. Continued success to you! |
| |
 | | Thanks Steven! It's not all glamour out here at home but it's the life we've chosen to live - and it's wonderful :) |
| |
 | | Hi Bev thanks for sharing. In my circumstances everything is telling me to give up & give in but I won't. Will share for you @ twitter.
| |
 | | You've hit the nail on the head, Corey! The first thing so many people say to me is "I don't want any information if this is going to cost me any money" Dah!! Who ever heard of a business that doesn't cost money to run?? |
| |
 | |
| |
 | | Lol, Dawn! Isn't that one of the reasons we work from home? So we can stay in our PJs as long as we want? :) |
| |
 | | Thanks for your comment, Trevor! I, too, would rather work from home but I think there are many out there who fear that they won't make it on their own - and they may well be right! You need to believe in yourself to do this :) |
| |
 | | A lot of good points in your post Bev; people that work from home cannot have an "employee - entitled attitude" as they will never be able to make things work for themselves as a work at home entrepreneur. They may as well stay at home and "hope" that by the time they retire - there "might" be a pension for them. |
