A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Retirement!

For many years, I had indicated that I would retire from my regular JOB well before turning 65 years old. But, as is often the case, life threw me some curves along the way; I found myself creeping dangerously close to that 'magical' age, still punching the clock. Alas, I recently hit the 63 yr. mark, and suddenly things starting coming together whereby I finally had the option to retire. Some wise investment decisions paid off handsomely, especially an important change made about a year ago when my company transitioned to a different 401K administrator.

Dividend income from stock portfolios hit a nice high, as well as my major holding surging up over 35% in value this past year. Couple this with monthly residuals on the rise from my network marketing business! And I knew in my mind that I could definitely build upon that once I had the time freedom from that regular job. So all the signs were pointing in the retirement direction, but I was still hesitant.

Then, 2 things happened which pushed me over the edge so to speak. My brother was diagnosed with throat cancer, and recently went through a very extensive surgery. He needed a caregiver during his recovery, and I was the logical choice. There was only so much I could do while still working. A family leave of absence was mentioned; but I saw the situation as a sign that maybe I should just go ahead and retire!

The second catalyst was my discovery of true PASSIVE income. Finding a vehicle where my money grew no matter what, was indeed a godsend. This was a culmination of many months of research into the cryptocurrency arena. Now instead of network marketing residual income based on sales and recruiting, I can now purchase smaller increments of bitcoin and watch it grow daily!

So when I added up the dividend income, residual income, passive income, 401K disbursements, IRA distributions, and the option to take social security benefits (I have chosen not to turn that switch on yet), I knew it was time to retire! Alas, as of last month, I am officially retired from corporate America!  Totally PASSIVE Income
