Isn't It Obvious?

Recently, I have turned my mind to the question of why some people are plagued by self-loathing.  We are magnificent beings.  How is it that some cannot find, or refuse to acknowledge, their true self?  It is as if there is a splendid buffet spread out in front of them but they are seated in a chair that is facing in the opposite direction.  They cannot partake in the table that is spread out before them.

Have you ever wondered what keeps the planets in their perfect orbits around the sun?  The planets never shoot out into space.  This world turns and, as it does, the seasons move from one to the other in a very, very predictable pattern.

When an acorn drops, it can do nothing other than become an oak tree.  When the farmer plants a field of corn, he expects nothing other than to harvest corn.  A dog has puppies, not kittens.  There is order in the nature of things.  These are scientific facts.

Do you ever think about your next breath?  No, of course not.  We keep on breathing without ever thinking about it.  How about your next heartbeat?  Do you ever think about making your heart keep beating?  Once again, of course not.  Incredibly, on average, the human heart pumps about 200 gallons of blood every day without us giving it a thought!  Over the course of a lifetime, the heart pumps about 2 billion gallons of blood.

What about your digestive tract?  We never think about the process called peristalsis.  This is the automatic movement of the food we eat through the GI tract.  Yet again, none of us give this any conscious thought whatsoever.  Or how about the process of digestion?  In digestion, stomach acids and enzymes break down the food that we eat and convert the nutrients in the food into the energy that we need to stay alive.  No thought required.  I have heard it said by a cellular biologist that there are about a trillion cells in the human body and that each one of those cells undergoes 100,000 chemical reactions every second!  Incredible!  And again, no thought required.

We have the ability to think, to remember things, to feel emotion, to imagine, learn, plan out our day.  We can walk. We can talk.  Some of us can throw a football to another player, running at full speed, to a point where the other player will be exactly. We can, through a process I cannot fully understand, see things.  The scientists say that the light that is cast upon an object is translated through the receptors we call eyes, converted into electrical impulses, and translated by our brains into the images that we focus upon.  We can hear, smell, taste and touch.  Please don't ask me to explain the science behind all of these things.  In short, we are all walking, talking miracles!

Albert Einstein said that one cannot look at the universe and conclude other than it is intelligent design.  When we look at ourselves, isn't it remarkable that we can do all of the things we talked about a moment ago?  We can see, hear, touch, think, walk, talk, plan, love, hate, learn, remember.  So how can we explain ourselves?  What is it that keeps our hearts beating, our lungs breathing, our cells reacting, our minds thinking, our hearts feeling?  There is only one answer.  There is only one explanation for all of these things.  What keeps our hearts beating?  It is God.  You are Infinite Intelligence.  Isn't it obvious?

Can there be any room for self-loathing?  God is omnipresent.  That is to say, God is present in all things and is everywhere.  God keeps us...and everything...alive.  The evidence is everywhere spread out before us in this wondrous creation.  God lives in each and every one of us.  Isn't it obvious?
