No Longer A Need To Ring Doorbells Now as An Independent AVON Sales Rep


     “Ding Dong, Avon Calling” was a phrase a great many Americans were very familiar with when I was growing up. Ads and commericials would show that was how “Avon Ladies” sold their products all across the country. They would ring the doorbells and then offer to show the lady of the house the fine products and fair prices that Avon had.

     Little did I know that one day I would be an independent sales representative with AVON, and even after I’d become a salesman of other products, I didn’t imagine I’d ever be selling cosmetics, body lotions, and fragrances. After all, I was a man, and men didn’t sell such women’s products, did they? And even if I decided to try doing so, I was in a wheelchair so how could I even reach most door bells to let people know I was there?

     Eventually I got to thinking about how right within my own neighborhood (and surrounding neighborhoods) there were hundreds of potential customers for the type of products AVON had for sale. I also learned about the catalog brochures that came out every two weeks that display the images and descriptions of their many popular products. I realized that I wouldn’t even need to ring any doorbells. I could simply leave those catalogs on people’s doorsteps, each with a label that had my name, phone number, and when the orders from that catalog needed to be in by.

     So that is how I got a whole lot of customers all over town. In fact, that is how you could do it, too, if you chose to do so. Those catalog brochures can be put in door hanger plastic bags and left on doors or on doorsteps. and offered to people you meet. That worked very well for me, and it could work for you, too.

     However, I am happy to let you know even that giving out those brochures (with or without doorbell ringing) is no longer necessary if you don’t want to do so. Any independent sales rep with Avon can now have their very own web store just like I now have.  Take a look at mine…

     Of course as good as that web store is, there is still the matter of getting people to come visit it. AVON even helps us do that. How? Well, one of the powerful ways is with what they call AVON SOCIAL.

     What is Avon Social?  It is a way for sales reps like myself to post both images and text content to our Facebook Fan page, Twitter, and other social media accounts right from our Avon Social back office. We  can set up our posts and schedule them to be posted on whatever days and times we want. Our posts can include a link to either the main page of our web store, or to the exact product page we are posting about.

    Avon is a company that cares about having top quality products, supporting worthy causes such as the battle against breast cancer, and helping independent sales reps have the marketing tools and training they need become successful.

     I am one one of Avon’s independent sales reps. I invite you to come to visit my online web store to either shop, or share with others, or decide to become a sales rep yourself. You could be one and get sales without ever ringing a single door bell.
