Hosting Our Own Images
The other day I used the Snipping Tool that comes with Windows, to get the above image from a capture page that I wanted to recommend to people who visit my IBO Social profile page. After all, if people see this part of that page, they are more likely to want to go check it out.
But just having snipped and then saved that image onto my computer wasn't enough for me to be able to use it here on IBO. I needed to host that image somewhere online so that I would have a URL in order for it to display on my profile page or in a press release.
One popular website for hosting images is Photo Bucket, and I've been using that site for quite some time since it is free and has provided good service.
Lately, however, it has taken longer and longer to be able to get new images uploaded onto the site and then get a URL that linked to it. Why? My guess is that it is due to the time it takes for so many ads to load before it will let me do what I want to do. (The only way to avoid all those ads is to pay an annual fee.) The day I tried to upload the above image it first took a fairly long time to upload the image, and then I had trouble getting the html code so I could actually use the image here on IBO.
Then it dawned on me. I have my own hosted domain, which means I have access to my cpanel. That cpanel has a file manager and it contains an image folder where I store images for use on my websites. I realized that I can access any image that I put in that folder simply by using a URL that links to it. Such a URL would look something like this, except of course with my actual domain name and the name of the image I wanted to use:
So, in a much shorter time than I'd spent trying to upload the picture and get a URL for it on Photo Bucket, I uploaded that image in my domain's file manager, and got the URL address for it to use in my updated profile page here on IBO. And now I've used the URL again to put it at the top of this press release.
Do you have your own domain name? Do have it hosted somewhere so that you can access the cpanel and store your pictures and photos in the image folder? If so, then you don't need to host your images on Photo Bucket or anywhere else.
I use All In One Profits to host my domain and websites because for as low as $11.50 a month they provide hosting, autoresponders, splash and capture page maker, and lots of other great marketing tools. Since my domain is hosted with them, I have access to my cpanel, including the image folder. And, to make things even better. the AIOP affiliate compensation plan is what I believe is the most lucrative plan available anywhere.
If you'd like to learn more about AIOP, I recommend you do so through AIOP Team 4 Step. If you join through them, you even get a funnel system completely set up for you to help you get and keep referrals. Click the banner below to get to one of their capture pages.
