Magnetic Sponsoring is Much More Needed Today

She traveled many miles just to see me...

My post in Facebook about my coming back to network marketing has inspired her to visit me again, hoping this time she will get me to join her business.

Many times I have turned her offer down, for several reasons...

  • Cost of entry is too much, around $500 for a package of food supplements
  • Business is offline-intensive which means, you have to travel places looking for prospects and customers
  • I am already involved with another MLM, I can't take another one with me.

Those are just some of the many reasons, countless reasons I can say to her why I am not joining.

Having experienced the same (what her doing) in the past, I can feel what she felt at the moment. When you have exerted a lot of efforts, and at the end of the day, you got nothing.

I really felt sorry, but at the back of my mind, feeling sorry is not the reason I should give in.

Good business decisions are not made out of feeling sorry for someone, or compassion on someone.

It's like looking for a spouse...

You can't take someone just because, you can't stand seeing the other person rejected by you.

It doesn't work that way, and in network marketing business, same principles apply.

In Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring book, he explained why trying to recruit leaders of other companies to join you seldom work.

The reason is, they already have their own businesses, why they would bother joining you?

You can only fill in a vacant space, and if something is filled, you can't force yours to a filled space. The only solution is, wait til that space is vacated then get in.

After the female friend left our house, thoughts about her rejection still hang in my mind. Quite guilty, but what can I do? It's how the game is played.

Things like this always happen in offline-intensive network marketing where distributors do business mostly by hosting meetings.

In the online world, prospects come to us instead of us coming to them.

We usually check for new names and email addresses in our list, for new person to contact and ask why they subscribed, what information they need.

What I mean is, we only talk to people who in the first place gave us a signal they're interested.

I won't mention names of MLM companies doing offline home meetings, but I really feel sorry for their distributors.

Of course, there are advantages in such strategies that online business doesn't have, but having worked both type of businesses, I prefer online.

Lots of advantages, and if you weigh both sides, online option wins.
