How We Went from Over $100K in Debt to Financial Freedom

Create the Life You Desire

Back in the mid 2000s my wife and I were living the upper middle class lifestyle (nice home, 2 cars in the garage, the two boys we were putting through school. the dogs, the cats, and even a bird). You know the story...

Things were awesome. We were living the American dream.
And then the nightmare hit.

My wife and I found ourselves both out of work at the same time. She was out of work for over a year, and I was out for over 6 months.

We had a little bit of savings in our bank account but not as much as they say you should have, and definitely not enough to get us through those lean times without having to borrow against what available resources we did have,

We had a mortgage to pay, car payments, insurance, health care, utility bills, food, clothes, and all the other necessities of life.

Then throw in those unexpected expenses that always seems to happen, like home air conditioning repair, tires for the car, school outings, etc. and outgoing cash just never seemed to end.

Fortunately, we had credit cards with high credit limits that we could utilize to borrow against. I say fortunately because, for us, they were a life saver. Borrowing allowed us to keep our home, and that was the most important thing for us. I know there are a lot of "experts" out there that recommend you don't borrow to stay afloat, and would have suggested we let the house go, but that was just not an option for us. Our house truly was a home and it was not for sell.

By the time Deb and myself finally did get work again, we had racked up over $100k in revolving debt!

People ask us all the time, how is that even possible?

Especially people who make $30 to $50K a year or less.

I just simply tell them to truth, which is that when you start making more money, you tend to live up to that lifestyle of money. While it might be difficult for someone who makes under $50K to understand how someone could be living from pay check to pay check on $250K a year, it happens all the time. When one makes more money, their lifestyle upgrades with it.

Maybe they get a better place to live. Maybe a nicer car or two. Maybe better clothes. Maybe they tend to eat out more than they used to. Maybe they take more exotic and expensive vacations.

Whatever it is, when one makes more, they enjoy it. And why not? Isn't that the reason for working in the first place? To make a better life for yourself and your loved ones?

So keep that in mind as you progress in your career, whatever it may be.

I look back now on that experience though, and see it as a pivotal point in our lives. If it would not have been what we went through, I would NEVER have considered looking for an alternative way to earn a living. It was that experience that got me thinking about starting a business online.

I was fortunate in a lot of ways. My wife was very supportive of my decision to do so. She was willing to work a full time job in order to allow me to work at home full time to build our business. A lot of people don't have that kind of support from their loved ones. But don't make that an excuse! If you truly want to be financially secure and to live life on your own terms, then do whatever you have to do to start, even if it means starting out part-time while you work a regular job.

And never give up!

I'll be honest. It was 18 months before we really started to see some consistent results with our business.

We had a lot to learn.

Fortunately, we were able to meet some terrific mentors along the way who helped guide us along the way, and we quickly absorbed whatever golden nuggets of advice they would provide.

Pay attention to this!

Listen to the people who have already made it in this industry. They know what it takes to succeed. We see too many people taking advice from people who are still trying to earn their first $100 online, and it frustrates us to no end. If you needed your car engine repaired, would you go to a car mechanic, or to your cousin Virgil who works the checkout line at Wal-Mart?

Get real!

Listen to the experts and then put into practice what they advise you to do.

Take action!

That's what we did. We followed the advice of our mentors, we educated ourselves in online marketing, and we implemented the strategies that we learned over the years.

I'm not going to lie and say we immediately got ourselves out from under the mountain of debt we were under. Hardly.

We truly were living from paycheck from paycheck and it was tough to pay the bills and just make the minimum credit card statements each month But we were making it by the grace of God.

And slowly but surely our business began to grow.

And I am happy to report that we are now DEBT-FREE!

$100k+ in revolving debt completely wiped out.

And all due to making a decision to change our future.

We now live the dream lifestyle we always wanted.

We fired our boss.
We have money freedom.
We have time freedom.
We travel the globe sharing our story with others.

Other people, who were in similar circumstances, started to gravitate to us, and wanted to hear our story.

We formed our team of like minded people called "The Job Slayers".

We show others EXACTLY what we have done to keep our heads above water in tough economic times, and to climb out of it to financial independence.

We lay it all out there:

What businesses we are involved in?
Why those businesses in particular?
What lead sources we us?

We don't hide anything. If you follow our plan, and do what we ask you to do, then it can provide you with whatever your dream lifestyle is as well.

If you are a freedom entrepreneur, then we welcome you to join our community of like-minded individuals.

Create the life you desire.
