Are You Using These Eight Elite Secrets?

Let's talk about what is important for your web site and your posts.

First and foremost you need to GRAB ATTENTION!

Your visitors and mine may not get past our Headline and/or Subheadline.  If we fail to grab attention, they are gone.

A compelling headline is a must!  Experts seem to agree that we have just a few short seconds (about 8 seconds) to engage our visitors.

Engaging images keep attention.

You and I can engage our visitors in many different ways.

Allow me to share the following tips and suggestions:

#1:  Put your headline in the form of a question.

Curiosity is one of your best tools for creating a compelling headline.  Your headline will get CLICKS
and will help you to keep your visitors on your page.

#2:  Use 'HOW TO'

The words 'How to' indicate to your potential visitor that they will find a 'solution' to their 'problem'.
Using this post's headline as an example...How to get more clicks.

#3:  Use Numbers and Adjectives.

Numbers work.  'Ways to do something' or '7 ways to do something'...
7 ways get more CLICKS.
Adjectives such as new, improved, embarrassing, shocking, weird. insane, crazy,
and secret also gets more CLICKS.

#4:  Shock Your Readers

Shocking headlines careful.  Shocking headlines that are not relative can become
visitor repellents.

#5:  Use Imagery:

Images are eye-catching and can help us to tell our story.  Images also help us to break up our content.
All text loses most readers.   In addition, you can use shocking or unusual images for an even more
compelling headline, web page, or post.

#6:  Use unusual facts:

You can simply Google phrases such as unusual facts, weird facts, strange facts, etc. Allow me to
remind you to keep your unusual facts relevant or to quickly show a real or figurative correlation.

#7:  Use Quotes

This is an easy alternative, but make sure that the quote fits your content or your content fits the quote.

#8:  Use Care

Readers do not want to feel that they are a victim of  'bait and switch' which is why I have been stressing the
importance of relevant content.

A website, web page, post, blog post, Press Release, etc. should have at least four parts.

Following your headline, you want to create interest and then build desire which leads your visitor
to a call to action.    These are the four components of good copy and should be the backbone of your
online writing efforts.

Thank you for reading, my friends.

PS.  RED LIPS grab men's attention!
According to studies, red lips will hold a man's
attention for 7 whole seconds!

What Would You Do?

Here is the situation:

You are a photographer.

It has been raining for days.

Flooding has forced you and many others to seek higher ground.

Now the local news warns that a dam very near you has broken and you need to leave immediately.

As you are leaving, you can see the flood approaching.

You estimate that you are fortunately a few feet higher than the oncoming deluge.

Suddenly, you notice a man is struggling in the water below.  It can't be...IT IS!

The man that is swimming for his life is the President (of your country).

You realize that you have two options:

Grab your camera and take a Pulitzer Prize-winning picture of the President before he is lost or save him.

What would you do?

Use color film or black and white?
