Why 'Follow Your Dream' May Be Misleading!

An Original IBO Press Release by George Pierce

Don't Fly

We are told to follow our dream.  Then we are told that in order to achieve our dream we must follow our passion.  This may be misleading advice!  Do not dismiss following your dream and following your passion, but this kind of advice may rob your focus from the areas that need it the most.

Our dream and our passion can help us to stay enthused and motivated.  In business, however, a strong skill set is a must.

My advice is Build Your Skills!

Are you familiar with Steve Martin?  Steve is a comedic genius.  He is also known for his  quote:

Be So Good That They Can't Ignore You! ~Steve Martin

which became a book by the same name.

A common thread in Steve's book is the importance of ability.   Your dream and your passion may help you to persist and not quit which is essential for your success, but your abilities and your skills will make the difference in the day to day world of business.  They will determine your value.

Do not unlearn the value of your WHY and the value of your PASSION, but consider putting more of your focus on building your skills, improving your abilities, and then helping others to build their skills.

Your goal is to "be so good that they can't ignore you".

Being SO GOOD!

The following are some of the absolute best TV sitcom situations of all time.  They are so good you do not want to ignore them.  You'll love 'em.  Enjoy!

Christopher Lloyd plays Reverend Jim in Taxi.  You may know him better as the wacky scientist in Back To The Future.  This is considered to be the funniest bit of all time!

Taxi: Reverend Jim Takes His Driving Test

Only on Seinfeld could ordering soup be the second funniest TV clip in history!   Larry Thomas plays Yev Kasem, the "Soup Nazi".  You'll love this one also, enjoy.

Seinfeld - The Soup Nazi clip

The third best clip of all time is Lucy and Ethel on a chocolate conveyor belt. This clip is based more on 'physical humor' and Lucy is a true artist.

How do you and I build our skills?

Study, learn, practice, take action, and work hard.  You and I can dream and we can be passionate and we should be.

We must also work on our abilities and our skills.

Thanks for reading, my friends.  I wish you much success and much skill.

This IBO Press Release is brought to you by Win At Losing Weight.

Did you know that healthy CRUNCHY snacks seem to satisfy best?

Are you aware that exercise helps your brain health, memory, and literally adds years to your life?
