Hurricane Irma Slowed My Momentum!

My Story:

Some of you may know that I live in western NC, USA.  I am sure that most of you know about hurricane Irma.  One of her visits was western NC.  By the time she got here, winds were about 50 to 60 mph.  Unfortunately, the ground was already drenched form previous rain.

The result is that Irma took down a lot of trees, which meant lost power in many areas and blocked roads.  We lost power for almost 48 hours, and a tree fell on our home.  Fortunately no one was hurt and we have a tough old home, so the tree stopped at the top of the wall.  It did make a loud crash that I hope I never hear again.   Many other folks had trees fall on their home and keep on going, so we have been lucky.

split fire wood

The tree has already been removed and I will get several cords of wood.

My yard is still littered with leaves, branches, debris, and 4 foot logs.  We have a nice wood stove.  So, it is my choice to clean this mess up and cut this up, myself.  I love this kind of stuff, I am so blessed to still be able to cut and split and haul wood, and I am sure that it is adding years to my life.

My newest content website has been really gaining momentum, so my being off line may slow that momentum.  Although I have 'caught up', I have not been contributing much to forward progress for several days due to lack of power and clean up.

Momentum is a powerful force, so as you build steam with your home biz, keeping your foot on the gas is the best way to keep your momentum rolling.  Momentum really is a snowball and gets bigger and bigger, faster and faster.   Momentum can be slowed, stuff happens, but as long as your momentum and mine is not stopped, we will be fine.

One other point...attitude.

Power is back on, the tree will provide me with lots of free exercise and fire wood, and the roof repair guy has already made temporary repairs to stop any leaks.

Come to think of it, Irma did not slow my momentum, she just diverted it a bit...and I am going to embrace it and enjoy it!

Hurricane Humor!

I do not want to omit humor, but what is funny about a hurricane?  I found a little something that I believe you will like.  Enjoy this 'hurricane humor'.  (fiction)

As Irma crossed the Caribbean, the Platinum King, Gore Vitalli, was not able to get his yacht out of harm's way.  The bad news is that the yacht sank, the good news is that it sank near a deserted island.  So Gore and all his crew were able to get to the island.

Once on the island, the entire crew was crying, frightened, and upset.  They had no clue where they were, and were afraid they might never be found.

Gore sat his crew in front of him.  'We will be found!"

"How can you be so sure?"

"For over ten years, I have been donating to ten different charities and my church.  I started out donating over a million dollars total. The last few years, business has been better and better.  Last year I donated over 30 million to these charities and the fall fund raising drives are just about to begin.  We will be found!"

Gore and his crew were found in under 96 hours!

Thank you for reading, my friends, I wish you much success and no fallen trees on your home.
