"What You Are Not Doing Online" is a compilation of some of the important details that many of use are not doing online simply because we are not aware and/or do not realize the value.   The bottom is line is these details will keep you from having a successful online journey.  So let's make your website and your marketing efforts more successful, but first, enjoy a bit of related fun.




A science degree grad asks, "Why does it work?"
An engineering degree grad asks, "How does it work?"
An accounting degree grad asks, "How much it cost?"
A liberal arts degree grad asks, "Do you want fries with that?"

This story is supposedly true.  
A man, we'll can Bob, needed a drink but had no money.  He decided to break into a liquor store, grab some booze, and run.  

Bob used a concrete block to carry out his plan.  He picked up the block, lifted it over his head and tossed it through the liquor store window.  The store window was a special glass that was nearly indestructible.  The concrete block bounced off the window, hitting Bob on the head and rendering him unconscious.  All of this event was caught on video.

In part 2, http://www.ibosocial.com/georgepierce/pressrelease.aspx?prid=561174, we had published our web page, post, PR, etc. and if it were on IBO,  we had made some comments in hope of reciprocation.  

Believe it or not, there is more to do!  

Still on our agenda of unfinished details are:
  1. Create a video...fun, easy, and powerful
  2. Free Ad Blast...free and immediate traffic
  3. Create articles...more traffic and backlinks
  4. Post at your blogs, forums and social sites...traffic
  5. Paid ads...but NOT until the math works...we'll cover that below, it is easy and straight forward.
You can do the first four steps in any order that you choose, just do them.  In the fifth step, below, you'll find a secret that others do not teach.  

Why are we going to the fifth step, rather than the first four?  Because, I beleive that most IM's think that  advertising comes next.  Allow me to say that what I am sharing is not textbook training, it is simply the culmination of effort and many mistakes.

NO Paid Online Ads!

I say NO PAID ADS, not  until you are ready! 

Instead of using all these methods (the ones that we have already covered and the ones that we are about to cover) for generating FREE traffic, why not use paid ads?  The traffic will be immediate...right?    Yes, traffic is immediate, but your ROI will almost certainly be negative.  

What happens when an aspiring Internet Marketer makes no noticeable headway for several months?
He/she may quit!

What happens when an aspiring Internet Marketer makes no noticeable headway for several months and is also losing money on advertising?

He/she is even more likely to quit.

What happens when an aspiring Internet Marketer follows in someone else's footsteps?  
Aside form making fewer mistakes and drastically shortening the learning curve,
he/she will succeed!

 
When should you use paid advertising?  

How you will know you are ready?  You will know you are ready when your sites begin to convert. Spending advertising money on sites that do not convert or that convert poorly is a formula for failure.  

Spending money on sites that do convert is a formula for success!



CPC Formula:

There are several formulas CPM, CPC, CTR, CPA, etc.  Let's cover CPC which stands for cost per click.   Let's look at a conversion rate of 0.5% , 1% and 2% and your profit per sale is $12.     

For every 1000 people, your ROI is $60 at 0.5%, $120, at 1% and $240 at 2%.  To break even, your ad costs need to be $60, $120, or $240 or less based on the above conversion rates.

You adverting cost is your cost per click times the number of clicks.

Divide your ROI/1000 by 1000 to find your profit point on your ad cost!  In this scenario, your CPC needs to be $.06, $, .12 or $.24 to break even.

If your results are similar to above, you are not ready for Adwords (with CPC about $1 - $2), but you may be ready for Facebook, and may I suggest that you consider beginning with sites like 7Search. https://7search.com/

As your knowledge and experience and skills increase, your ability to improve your conversion rates will improve...for now, while you are learning to crawl and walk, avoid paid online advertising until the math works.
