Continuing with the 'Niche Marketing is like Fi$hing for $$$$!' series,  our next step is list building.  

The point of this article is that creating emails takes thought and effort.  It gets faster and easier, but always Think First!

Allow me to give you a good example, where Bubba did not think first.

Think First, Bubba!

Bubba is a good friend, one of the best people on the planet, just not too bright.  Bubba called me a few weeks ago, his voice was hoarse.  I asked him if he was OK, since he was barely able to talk.  He told me that he had been golfing earlier.

"How did golfing make you almost lose your voice?", I asked.
Bubba told me that he hit a long ball to the green but the wind carried it way off course.  I thought to myself, the wind...as I listened.  "Between the wind and my slice," continued Bubba, " my doggone ball went way to the right and into a pasture.   

While Bubba looked for his ball, he notice that a woman was also looking for a her lost ball.  Bubba passed a cow and noticed a ball under its udder, but it wasn't his.  Being the good Samaritan that he is, Bubba called to the woman.  As he pointed under the udder, he yelled, "Do this look like yours?"

"You won't believe what happened."  said Bubba, "The woman walked over to me, pulled out a nine iron and hit me in the throat!"

Think First Before You eMail!

What are the three things that you and I want from our lists?  
  1. Retention
  2. A good open rate
  3. A good click through rate.
For good retention, as mentioned in part fourteen, we need to show our subscribers that we care about them.  Caring will also help you with your open rates and click through rates, as well.
  •  Make your emails conversational, make your email as if you are talking directly with your readers (because you are!).   
  • Use the act as if, then you will strategy....Act as if you care, and in no time, you will care.
  • Your Caring leads to helping and informing your list, which means providing quality content
Add a short 4 step coywriting formula (AIDA)...grab attention, build interest and create desire, ask for the click.

Anyone can write an email, and with a little forethought (thinking first), anyone can nurture a list.  Start your list building today.
