Tough Aunt

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it.

The next day the kids came back and one by one began to tell their stories.

"Johnny, do you have a story to share?" the teacher asked.

"Yes ma'am. My daddy told a story about my Aunt Karen. She was a pilot in the Iraq war and her plane got hit.

She had to bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a small flask of whiskey, a pistol and a survival knife.

She drank the whiskey on the way down so it wouldn't break and then her parachute landed right in the middle of twenty enemy troops.

She shot fifteen of them with the gun until she ran out of bullets, killed four more with the knife, till the blade broke, and then she killed the last Iraqi with her bare hands."

"Good Heavens" said the horrified teacher. "What kind of moral did your daddy tell you from this horrible story?"

"Stay the heck away from Aunt Karen when she's drinking!"

Careful Considerations

There are some critical l considerations you must carefully consider before you send a solo ad.

The list to which you're sending your offer, your email copy, which includes the subject line and email body.

Sales can be made using a solo ad,but you'll need to communicate with the vendor and see if he requires your copy, or if he requires only a URL.

I'm talking about sales only with e above thought. If you require signups , than you'll need email copy and definitely a free offer that accompanies it.

If you're after sales ,there are several pieces you'll need to investigate.

Like the list reputation, from where are you buying these leads, how responsive is the list, what has it bought before.

That is if you can pull the info from the vendor.

Some solo ad sites offer sales info, like Udimi give the Vendors have have had the most sales for the month,

You want to know how often names added to their list and how often is the list updated.

You'll need to know how many names and email addresses are on the list.
Here's a solo ad directory,

Clickmeter also has an interesting best solo ads vendors list ,

Udimi, the solo ads site I use offers important information for all vendors and if you become an affiliate it offer a $5.00 signup bonus for your referrals.

The coordination between vendor and IMer is outstanding.

You can ascertain the important relevant information to which I'd referred .
The best list to which you email is your own list. The second best list falls under the category of a solo ad or ezine newsletter.

Be sure that the people who've responded to the solo list in the past, are responding to offers that are in your niche.

Once a person buys a product or service, their chances of buying similar products and services are very high.

Customers will usually buy more of the similar products and services before which they'd purchased.

Always know your goal and what you want to do.

Do you want to collect leads,do you want to advertise your brand,or do you want to sell products and services?

Here is a pdf download for a solo ad eBook called "The Secret to Solo Ads Success".

PPC and Solo Ads are the most targeted ads,so if done correctly, probably the most effective, from a conversion perspective, but also can be expensive.

But the most expensive advertising will generally return the largest ROI. But get it right the first time.

So how do you find relevant email lists?

First go to and click "business" under "Market", then click "email" under "Channel".

Look at the information offered for the list "Home Business Opportunity".

There were 19,133 home business opportunity business email lists found.

There are almost 2.5 million Business Opportunity Seekers persons on one list, but only 312k on the email list.

This this gives you the opportunity to use direct mail,Facebook, and telephone marketing.

You need to communicate with the owner of the solo ad or ezine newsletter before you buy and after the email campaign or ezine newsletter advert is sent.

Always ask for additional media placements, like banner placements and text adds on their sites, especially for the ezine newsletter owner .

Remember you need to test one piece of your ad at a time. The predominant pieces are the headlines, the subject, body copy, and the price.

Good solo ad ventors, like Udimi, track most of the relevant information for you.

You can use Google Analytics to track for you, take a look at this page,

If you have a Google Analytics account go here to get a tracking number =>

If the offer is successful, then scale up 500% of the original, but always aim at the same avatar or niche market, and a totally new group of targeted email recipients.

When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you. Lao Tzu
