These 16 Money Wasters Are Why So Many Americans Can’t Save For Retirement is a very interesting (and accurate) article I thought you might enjoy reading.

I will not attempt to duplicate the article here but the gist of it is that most Americans live like no other people on earth. We have more and bigger stuff: Larger houses, bigger vehicles, more shoes. And, in my not so humble opinion, we can’t tell the difference between needs and wants, between necessities and desires—and we sure can’t defer gratification.

If you watch the news you will hear that (too) many Americans live paycheck to paycheck.  Well, if that is true how can we possibly afford to spend as wildly as we do?

He goes on to list the top 16 ways we waste money which includes:

Tattoos

Vacations

Dining Out

Opportunities Lost

Transportation

Credit Cards

Lottery Tickets

Clothing

Shoes

And more...

Here is the link to the full article.  I hope you find it as enjoyable and as sensible as I did.  A simple rule like 'save 10% of what you earn' would solve the retirement income problem for our children.

And now a word from our sponsor:

Are there any birthdays, anniversaries, or other special events coming up soon  in your world?  Maybe you should send them a card to honor the occasion?

As a customer of Send Out Cards you can send a card for $2.75 plus postage....how much do cards cost where you live?

You will feel good for doing it and the recipient will be thrilled!  Click here for more info:
