VidMe: A brief introduction.

I was introduced to VidMe Dot Com about three days ago by a member from YouTube and I found the Video sharing platform fresh and exciting. This website could be useful to video marketers and vloggers alike. So I decided to do a brief introduction to the VidMe video sharing platform. You can join free at the link above.

About Vidme

We’re a team of twelve humans and six dogs located in Downtown LA who are on a mission to build the world’s most creator-friendly video community. Over 25 million people use Vidme every month to upload and watch videos, and we're just getting started.

Community rules

  1. No pornNo pornography or sexually explicit nudity. No judgment if porn is your thing, but hosting videos costs a lot of money. Artistic NSFW content is okay, but nothing that’s intended to stimulate people, um, down there. Not sure if your video is porn or art? It’s probably porn. Don’t upload it on Vidme.
  2. No hate speechNo videos that promote racism, bigotry, physical harm of any kind against any group or individual.
  3. Don't share others' personal informationDon’t share someone else’s personal info (phone number, email address, home address, etc.) unless you have their explicit permission to do so.
  4. No spamThis includes clickbait, advertisements, scams, automated postings, irrelevant comments, etc.
  5. No stolen contentDon’t upload a video if you don’t hold the copyright or permission to share it. If you didn’t make the video, and you don’t have permission from whoever did, then you probably aren’t the copyright owner.
  6. Mark your own videos NSFWWhen uploading videos intended for a mature audience, include "NSFW" in the title. Again, don't upload porn. If you’ve got something with tasteful non-sexual nudity in it though, or something artsy or anthropologically fascinating that you wouldn’t want your boss or teacher to see you looking at, then please add “NSFW” to the title of your video.
  7. Help us build communityFlag content that you think violates these rules or our terms of use. Our goal is to build the world’s most creator-friendly video community, and we rely on people like you to make this possible by reporting offensive users and inappropriate content.
  8. Respect our terms of usePlease comply with our terms of use while using Vidme and help us keep everything here above board.
  9. Categorize videos appropriatelyIf your channel is verified, you can publish your videos to categories. Publish your video to the category most appropriate for the *individual video*, not your channel or videos overall. For example, if you usually produce gaming content, then one day make a personal vlog, that should be published as “Vlogs”, not “Gaming.” There are gray areas of course, so hit us up and ask if you’re not sure. If we notice a video in the wrong category, we’ll correct it.
  10. Don’t game the systemIn other words, don’t engage in vote manipulation, attempt to “break” Vidme, or try to circumvent a site-wide ban by making a new account.
How to earn money at VidMe

Make money with ads Choose to show ads on your videos and earn 70% of all revenue generated.

Paid subscriptions

Enabling paid subscriptions allows your fans to support you on a recurring monthly basis. Here's how it works:

  • Paid subscriptions are currently only available for verified creators. If you're not already verified, please apply for verification. We'll be opening paid subscriptions to non-verified creators soon.
  • When you're verified, you can enable paid subscriptions on your channel from your monetization settings.
  • Once this is enabled, you'll see a "Subscribe" button will appear on your channel and video pages.
  • You'll keep 90% of your earnings, after transaction fees. See below for payout details.

Paid tips

Verified creators can accept tips directly from their fans! Here's how it works:
  • Verified creators' videos feature a tipping button below their video players. Fans can use this button to instantly tip the creator for their video. We'll be opening up paid tips to non-verified creators soon.
  • Fans that leave tips on a creator's video are showcased beneath the video. The biggest tippers get the most visibility.
  • Creators receive 100% of tips. Tippers are asked to pay an additional 10% service fee to Vidme to help cover processing fees. See below for payout details.

Payout details

  • Earnings from tips and subscriptions are paid out to your PayPal email address, which you can add to your account in your account settings.
  • Currently, earnings are paid out on request after 60 days, once your balance has reached at least $25. As an example, if you earn $25 on March 1st, you'll be eligible to withdraw your full earnings by May 1st. We require this 60 day waiting period to limit the risk of chargeback fraud.
  • Email us from the email address associated with your Vidme account when your balance has reached at least $25. We'll be automating this soon.

Monetization

The Vidme team is working hard to develop new ways to help you earn money from your videos, including ad revenue sharing, fan patronage, merch sales and sponsorships. Sign up at the our website for the latest updates!

No I don't make any money from you joining VidMe.

I hope this information was helpful, thanks for reading.

Have a great day!
