Are you spending too much time thinking about all the things that could go wrong in your life?
I've got just three things to say:
1. You're not alone
2. It's not so bad
3. You CAN fix it
There is a psychological label for this kind of constant fretting and it's called "generalized anxiety disorder".
Women seem to be diagnosed with it more often than men are. This could be mainly because women tend to be more honest and open in expressing their feelings than men so there may not be as much documented cases for men.
These people with this disorder may actually spend from five percent of their time to more than half the day, working out solutions to problems that may or may not exist.
Maybe instead of "generalized anxiety disorder", it should be called having a case of "severe normality", because we all probably experience this type of behavior at some point in our life.
In 2007, a Yale University study actually identified a gene mutation that can predict a tendency to "chew on" or go over repeatedly something in the mind. This became known as "the worry gene".
All this "worrying" can cause health issues. It can make you irritable and lose concentration.
It takes practice to change worry patterns. It boils down to readjusting how you think about the world, and believing that tomorrow is a new day.
Trust that the dawning of a new day will bring something wonderful and let what has happened in the past be just that, "The Past".
There are ways or techinques that you can do the help train yourself on how to ease a worried mind.
Maybe I will go on with that part at a later date.
