I attended my daughters Marching Band awards night tonight and thought I would share.
Marching Band is an option for kids to become a part of that will not only keep them active and involved in their school, but also gives them an option instead of going out and maybe getting involved in things that may not actually be the best for them to be involved in.
These kids spend so much time practicing for their school band, and then the rest of their time is usually spent on catching up on their homework, they don't have time to get into trouble.
Now, no, not all kids have a tendency to go out and get into “trouble”, but being involved in their school marching band, or other school activities, is a great way for all kids to stay active and involved.
It will not only help them learn responsibility, posture, time management, involvement in their community, etc., but it will just help them become a better overall person. The things that they can learn through involvement in their school, is unlimited.
I have already had a son go through four years of being in the marching band for his school, and I truly believe that his being in the band had done nothing but enhance his growing into a fine young man.
So whether, it is your local schools marching band, choir, or any other school activity, I do believe that your child’s involvement in any school activity or community activity will greatly enhance their development and help them grow into a fine person for life.
So, please, enjoy the video that was done about our local high school and know that something like this not only can affect your child’s development, but can affect the community also.
