The night for ghosts and goblins of all kinds is fast approaching. Have you decided yet just what you would like to be? Do you want to be pretty, sexy, funny, scary, mysterious, etc.? Do you even dress up?
Do you plan on staying home and handing out candy to other children or are you going to take your own children out on the town?
I usually don't dress up, I have in the past, but mainly when I was a child of course, and maybe twice as an adult. I always take the kids out and around to the neighborhoods to gather a sack full of candy, and an occasional pencil or two.
The kids get excited and look forward to this night which doesn't seem to be the same as it was when I was a kid. Not as many people seem to be participating in Halloween these days, in my opinion.
Not as many porch lights are lit and one of the things to do these days, is to participate in a “trunk or treat” community affair. Which, if you don't know, is where a bunch of cars get together in one spot and give out candy from the trunk of their cars.
I actually like this, because I don't have to walk as much over unfamiliar ground, however, there could be quite a long, slow line as the children make their way from trunk to trunk.
Another similar way of bagging all those goodies is walking through the mall in your area. This, again, can have it's benefits such as not having to be out in the cold and sometimes wet weather. However, here to, you have to deal with the slow moving lines. One detail for this particular way of “trick or treating” is that lots of times the stores in the mall will put in little advertisements for their store, which may also include a coupon or two that you may find useful at some point.
There is always the risk of getting that “rotten” apple, so to speak. Meaning, for those times that some unbelievably terrible sick person puts something in a bag that can harm a child. I remember when hospitals use to make it available to come in after gathering all your treats and have your candy X-rayed.
I'm not sure if that is still offered any longer, but either way, I do know that I still make it a point of going through my kids candy bag before they get one piece, and inspect each piece to assure that it is safe. At least as much as I can, that is.
Tonight we went and got our pumpkins and carved them out into different weird and scary faces. This can be a little messy, but they seem to enjoy it.
So whatever your tradition is when it comes to the one night that you can truly be something or someone different from yourself and get away with it, have fun, be safe, and don't eat too much of that candy yourself, or you may just need to go see either the dentist, or me.
Come see me, because if you enjoy too much candy, you may notice that you put on a few pounds and would like to get rid of them. If that is the case, then this would be a great time to check into SISEL's spectacular array of weight loss products to help take those pounds off quickly and safely.
Wishing you and your family a safe Halloween, and as always, I wish for your continued success in your business or just life in general.
