If you have visited my website, or read any of my blogs, you may remember me mentioning about being in a previous business. Actually, I have been in a couple of these “work at home” businesses hoping to make a little extra cash to make ends meet. I grew up knowing you can’t get anything handed to you. That if you want something you must go out and earn it. Isn’t that what we want our children to learn? That you work hard, and then you can reap the reward? However, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am not able to go out and just get a job outside of the home.
However, I have also learned more times than I would like to say, that I have been “taken” by these “get rich quick” schemes. I will admit, for quite awhile, mainly due to the fact that I didn’t know any better, and being so desperate in needing to make money, I would always fall for these “fast talking, smooth operators”, that would call me and say something to the effect, “I see you are looking for a work at home job, and we actually have only a few openings available in your area, would you be interested in working for us?”
Each and every call would continue to turn out the same way. To get a “job” with them I would have to pay, oh say, only $150. This amount was actually cut down from say $500 due to my current “financial” situation and they were basically going to be doing me a favor for letting me into their fabulous business. They would even give me a couple of weeks to actually come up with the money.
So call me naïve, or just plain stupid, but I actually went through with it a couple of times. And of course, even though they felt they were doing me a favor by cutting their price for me, in all reality it was still quite a challenge for me to free up that so called “small amount of money”. But I would somehow come up with the money, hoping all along that I would get that money back plus a little more, the quicker the better.
So they would basically give me a list of things to do, saying if I had any questions or needed any help, just let them know. Well, they neglected to tell me it was going to cost even more to do the others things I needed to do just to be able to get my website, advertising, etc. up and running. Needless to say, I was like a fish out of water. Had no idea what to do, where to go, or how to do any advertising. And of course, it seemed like every time I turned around I needed to invest a “little” more money to make the “real” money start coming in. I continued this process for about a year and a half, only losing money, and not making one red cent.
Oh, and by the way, when I would call to get their help or to ask what to do next, etc. I either could not get a hold of anyone or it seemed I always needed more money to invest in “that next step”.
I became very upset and frustrated wondering “what did I do wrong, what could have been done differently, etc?” Why was I not making the “great amount of money” I was told I would make?” Why wasn’t I making any money at all? Nobody I spoke with seemed to care. It was always, “you need to input a few more dollars to get the real money”.
Then one evening, I received a connection from someone with whom I consider an “angel in disguise”. That person contacted me and wanted to talk. With hopes of maybe, finally having someone who may be interested in what I was trying to promote out on the internet, I agreed to speak with them. When we spoke, he spoke to me in a way that made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Like an old friend who knew, somehow, exactly what I had been going through with these “get rich quick” businesses.
He invited me to take a tour of what he was offering and to decide in my own time if I might be interested in what he had to offer. The topping on the cake for me, was not only the amount of getting into this particular opportunity, but it was how he was coming across to me. He spoke to me like a real human being. Not someone with whom he just wanted to make a “fast buck” on. I don’t know about some of you out there, but sometimes you just get certain “vibes” about people and those “vibes” will either make your alarms go off and make you turn you away from that person, or you just have a connection with them that you may not be able to explain. Either way, I felt he was truly being up front and honest with me. And to me, that means A LOT.
To make a long story short, which I always seem to have a knack at rambling on and on, I did decide to join him. And I couldn’t be happier. He, now, “WE” are a part of a business that truly wants to make a difference in people’s lives; a business that wants to create harmony in the advertising industry and to make their advertising tools available to everyone at a reasonable price that anyone can afford. They do not want to take your last dime so that they can make a profit. They truly care about you and your business.
Again, as I mentioned in my business profile, I pride myself on honesty, loyalty, and making sure to treat others as I would want them to treat me. I feel that if you speak from your heart and show that you actually care and want to help others, then they will know that they can trust in you to "watch their backs".
I want to serve, lead, train, and treat you the same way I feel each and every one of us deserve. If we each can take what we have been taught and make sure we deliver that same quality of caring and trust to each person we come in contact with, then how can we possibly go wrong?
Of course, we all want to make money, but what good is money, if you are deceiving others and taking what they may not be able to afford out from under them.
I am here to share my experiences and want to help you learn and grow as I am learning and growing. Join me and together let’s show all those “fly by night, get rich quick” so called businesses that not only can you make some money out there, but you can do it in a way that everyone feels good about it.
