This Is About Me (updated and revised)
                                                                            The Big Ask
I've already stated that writing about myself is one of, if not, the hardest thing for me to write about.  It will be restated below as I figured there was no need to re-write that which I've already written.  That, sort of, explains the title of this Press Release.

This is one of the most difficult things for me to do.  Write about myself.  So, with that caveat, I'll begin at the beginning.  I was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1957 in John Hopkins University and Medical Hospital.  I don't know what you know about life in Baltimore, Maryland in 1957 but it wasn't easy, especially for African-Americans and minority groups.  There should be, at least , one picture of me on this site but FYI, I am an African-American male and prefer to be just called a 'black man'.  I was raised by a single mom with help from her parents; my grandparents.  One of the things that might go un-noticed if not pointed out is that in 1957 in Baltimore, and elsewhere, segregation was a stark reality.  This played a major role in where we lived, where I went to school and where my mom worked.  I'm not going to follow this thread any further because it's not strictly pertinent to my story and the fact that my mother died June 15th, 2016; almost exactly a year ago.  May she rest in peace.

I am an only child and am not, nor have I ever been married.  Inspite of the way that I've set this piece up where one might be led to believe that my life was a horrendous struggle and all around terrible, that is not the case.  My mother was a social worker who rose through the ranks and retired as the Regional Administrator for the Department of Social and Health Services in the state of Washington with a Phd. and an ordained minister.  My mother, too, was an only child and had only one wish for me and that was that I be able to live well and enjoy my life.  She accomplished that goal 'in spades'.  I never really wanted for anything though I also never really had high asperations for myself.  I tasted life and have no real regrets.  Except maybe that I wish I had had access to the technology of today.  It really levels the playing field.  Unfortunately, I wasn't really exposed to the internet until 2010.  I tend to live life on an intellectual level and I haven't enjoyed myself so much.....ever!

So, suffice it to say that me becoming an Internet Marketer and making money online was not really in the cards for me.  But I guess it was.  Which brings me to why I'm here.  Like most people trying to figure out how to make money online, I've been through it.  All of the scams and lack of honest discourse on the subject had just about driven me away but then I realized that I may not have had very high aspirations for myself but now I very much want 2 things before I check out and leave this mortal coil.  The first is to finally make more than just spending money online.  I want to become financially independant and do it all from home.  And the second is to help and teach others to achieve the same.

That being said, you should know by now that there's no 'magic button' or overnight success.  Success is earned and I have been working diligently towards that end as can be evidenced by my consistent presence here on IBOtoolbox.  Which, by the way, is an unparalleled asset to all of us in our quest for online success.  Even so, I am far from attaining financial independence or even making a living here online.  As stated earlier, in my quest I've seen just about everything and it is disappointing how few legit and helpful sites and programs are really out there.  There are some though and I tout them relentlessly here on IBO and anywhere else I can.

One of the things that I ran across was this concept of 'crowd funding' which I've be warned that I should stay far away from.  There's one, and I forget the name of it, that claims that you can join it and actually have others help you with you personal needs like bills, school, or even a vacation.  Due to the advice given to me about these types of things, I did not indulge myself in it.  But, it did give me an idea.  Here's where you might want a little more information about me.

I was one of those workers that was displaced in the 'great recession' of 2008-2009.  When I was laid off the word was that the company I worked for was relocating and that we would/could  be re-hired sometime after that.  The relocation took place but the re-hiring did not.  I'm 60 years old now so I was 52 or so then.   Still 13 years from being eligible for social security.   I drew unemployment until that ran out, all the while searching every day for new employment.  Anyone that was hit by this recession as I was knows the extreme difficulty in finding work at that time.  After the unemployment ran out I survived on my savings and what little money I could earn here and there.  Thank God I had been diligent in my saving.  Being single and all by myself I was able to get by on a shoestring budget for the past seven years or so but my savings is just about depleted.

Also, over the last 5 years or so, my health has been in decline.  If it were not for the Affordable Care Act I would not have had insurance and the ability to receive health care and would very likely be deceased by now.  I've applied for Disability but my final hearing on that won't come about for up to a year.  So here's where my earlier reference to crowd funding and the part of my Press Release titled 'The Big Ask' come into play.  I'm going to post this Press Release here on IBO and everywhere else that I can in hopes that I might be worthy enough to receive assistance from you, the people.  I imagine you might be able to label this crowd funding but at least it's honest and not a scam.

If after reading this you can see your way clear to donate any amount to my cause it would be much appreciated.  And I will personally thank each and every one of you.  My cause is currently keeping a roof over my head and food in my stomach.  After October 31st is when my savings will finally be depleted.  With any luck, and lots of prayers, I will be able to provide for myself on my own again by the end of the year.  This making money online thing is a reality; it just takes time and I have begun to make money with it but my projections say that to be self-sufficient again will take at least that long.

So, that's 'The Big Ask'.  I had to swallow my pride to do this but at least this avenue is available to me thanks to the internet.  My hope is that all of my IBO associates can help me out by, at least, helping me to get this Press Release to go viral.  If you feel so disposed to also donate to my cause, this is the email address to my PaPal account.
