That expensive “To Do” list

I was going through some old files this last week and came across a “to do” list from 5 years ago.

Some of it was pretty mundane, all of it irrelevant by this date but one thing…

It involved getting a piece of paper signed by an “orphan client” who I had been giving some assistance to with their insurance.

The original insurance agent had died and I was happy to help this small company with their group disability insurance policy.

I’m an insurance agent, licensed with the same company and in order for them (the insurance company) to pay me I needed to get what’s called an “agent of record” form and fax it to the company.

It was only about $16 a month commissions. Then I realized that it was worth $204 a year in commissions to me, every year if I had just done it!

But I didn’t…

Honestly, I just flat forgot about it.

In 2012 I really was struggling financially by my standards. It was a year of financial recovery from a precipitous drop but I was so focused on finding some “quick money” that I totally dropped the ball on that piece of paper. Cost me over $1,000 so far.

Who knows how many other “to do” notes I’ve missed and what it’s cost me.

Maybe you can relate? Actually I hope you can’t. I hope that you are meticulously organized with a system that avoids the myriad of sticky notes and “to do” lists that I’ve suffered through over the years.

But if you are like me and you need a system to keep you honest….

You should try Simpleology.  It’s the modern system to get organized that’s been around for over a decade.

Simpleology has 3 versions. One is FREE, one is $7 a month and the one I use is $47 a month (that’s the “Cadillac” version).

Take the free trial of Simpleology by clicking here. If you want to scale back to the $7 or free version you can do so at ANY time. Be sure to sign up as an affiliate also (like I am)

Wishing you have your best year ever

PS - like a lot of programs I use and believe in, I track my Simpleology affiliate links using LeadsLeap - of course they have a useful free version
