Do You Know How Many Carbohydrates You Need Daily?

Have you ever worried about how many carbs you need daily? Sure, we all have. It’s not as stressful as one may think to figure out and ensure the body receives the proper recommend daily amount.

Depending on your total calorie intake will determine the number of grams of carbohydrates one needs each day. Regardless of the calories intake whether you’re eating a healthy heart diet, following a diabetic nutrition plan, or if you’re preparing for a bodybuilding competition, you can easily calculate the number of carbs you need.

Many people adopted the low-carb keto diet which has been around for many years and recommends for individuals with diabetes before insulin was discovered in 1921 and now is making a come back in recent years as an individual start to focus more on improving their health the natural way.

To ensure the proper calorie intake, always consult with your physician as they are the experts to create a plan along with a nutritionist that will best suit your current lifestyle.  Your physician will take into consideration our body frame, whether small, medium or large built if you’re physically active, your interest in weight-loss and if one is NOT physically active.

Calories intake can range from 1,200 to 2,400 calories a day. You will use the daily recommended calories that your physician deemed proper for you and the goals you may have discussed. 

To determine the number of grams of carbs, one needs, calculate 45 to 65 percent of your total calorie intake and divide that by 4. For example, my daily calories intake is 1,900; 45% of that total is 855 calories. Now, divide 855 by 4, and you will see my daily goal to shoot for is 213.75 grams of carbohydrates daily.

If your goal is to lose weight, 100-150 grams of carbs per day is ideal, especially for those who are lean, active and just want to maintain their already healthy lifestyle. Keep in mind though; one may have to count calories and control their food portions.
