How to tell if a coach is lying to you!

Published on 5/10/2019
For additional information  Click Here

Here we go:

1) They don't have a start-to-finish system.

This means a scalable system for attracting and converting the RIGHT clients. It shouldn't depend on luck, or superstition. It shouldn't leave anything out. You should be able to follow it, step-by-step, and get an amazing result. And those results should happen QUICKLY.

2) They don't advertise.

If you don't advertise, you don't have a business. If you don't see your coach turning ad spend into profit (and if he/she can't teach you to do the same), RUN.

3) What they TEACH is not what they DO.

I was in a mastermind one time. The guru was teaching his amazing follow-up sequence. A student raised his hand and asked, "How is this working for you?" The coach said, "Oh, I don't do any of this...I just think it's a good idea." WTF.

Make sure that your coach is DOING what they TEACH.

4) They SHAME you when you ask a question they can't answer.

There is one coach in particular I have seen do this on many occasions. He doesn't advertise. He can't scale his business. He hates when people ask about lead-gen because he doesn't know how to do it.

We're at an event. A student asks about lead-gen.

This coach said: "You had 20 clients and one of them asked for a refund. How can you worry about lead-gen when you're scamming people?"

Wait...what? Instead of answering the question about lead-gen (which he couldn't) he deflected the question and shamed the client.

Many coaches use GUILT and SHAME to manipulate clients. If someone does this to you, have enough self-respect to BAIL.

5) They don't have a team.

This one is HUGE. NO ONE knows everything.

I'm good at Facebook ads. But I'm not world-class.

I'm good at helping clients with mindset stuff. But there are people WAY better than I am.

My clients deserve the BEST support in the world. So rather than pretend that I know everything, I hired people who ARE the best. I pay them TOP-DOLLAR to work with my clients, and that's why my people get such great results.

Does your coach teach traffic? And sales? And mindset? And scaling? And lead-gen?

They better have a team. Because nobody knows everything.

6) They won't back up their income claims with SPECIFICS.

If a client wants to see the exact breakdown of our numbers (clicks, leads, sales, etc) I'm happy to share.

If a coach is making big income claims, they'd better be able to BACK THEM UP with the DETAILS. If not, they might be full of it.

7) They confuse "sales" with cash collected.

The above numbers are CASH COLLECTED. Payments processed. In the bank. Done deal. This is what coaches should be basing their income claims on.

Instead, what many coaches do is give you their "sales" numbers.

For example, let's say a coach has a mastermind that's $120,000 for 12 months. It's paid in 12 monthly installments of $10k.

That coach enrolls 3 people into his mastermind and proudly proclaims, "We did $360,000 this month!"

This is bullshit. This coach may have SOLD $360k worth of his stuff, but he only COLLECTED $30k.

He MIGHT collect $360k if all 3 clients stay for the entire year, and make all their payments...but today, he only has $30k.

You see the difference.
