Social Media And Your Network Marketing Business

I must vent a bit. Forgive me! I completed this post and as I was editing something went amiss when my cursor shifted to the side and I lost it so now I must start over.  I guess it is all about persistence.

My post is inspired by a FB live I was on this morning (20/6/17) with Eric Worre who is an author and network marketing expert.

Are you improperly using social media and hurting our network marketing on social media?

Social media is the means where there is interaction among people who create value driven content and information and share.  It is a platform on which people find each other, share information, Families and friends find each other, share from around the world and keep up to date. And yes, your network marketing business, but not pitching.

Some of us however, seem to think that if we have a business or opportunity they should be pitching it to everyone.  That is not how it works!

This is what some of us do:

  • The groups we join will have rules to say no promoting, yet some of us promote our business anyway. I have seen it happen!
  • Your friend request is accepted possibly because you are friends with a few mutual friends. Before the “hello” is completed in private message, you are offering a business proposal.
  • Constantly posting ads even on your own timeline, not offering any real value or sharing valued content.
  • Yet others use messenger to scam people with binary options

People join people not business and you have to create an atmosphere of know like and trust…getting to know you.

If people get to know you based on valued content you share, they pay attention. Your content in your niche could help them solve a problem, provide information that is inspiring, motivating and encouraging. The kind of information that while not necessarily solving their problem could trigger a thought process for them to find a solution as to how they can deal with a issue they may be having in your particular niche.

Searching them out, within your niche on social media, and making constructive comments on their posts…not spam them. Do that on a regular basis and they begin to take notice, become curious about you and begin to follow your content-driven posts.  Soon they will ask what it is you do.
