Explaining What You Do And Why

Explaining what you and why is not always the most productive thing you can do. Sometimes it is better to just show what you do.



There are times when, more so with this business of online marketing or internet marketing as examples, you are figuring out how to do some things or apply what you learn and you are asked what you are doing.


It is often difficult to explain because while you are talking and trying your best to explain the person to whom you are talking is not listening.  Have you never noticed how some persons are persistent in posing their questions? They are so busy with their questions that you know that they are not listening and not really interested in the answer. They only hear what they want to hear. It means that the questions they continue to pose is not necessarily questions to gain knowledge, thereby satisfying more than their curiosity.

In Explaining why you do  and why to your "listener"  by their response it  immediately suggests a number of possibilities:

  • They are not really interested in what you have to say
  • They are lacking in communication skills and possibly have an agenda
  • They are talking just for talk sake - that is  liking the sound of their own voices

When you find yourself exposed to people like this it is time to disassociate yourself - knowing when to stop talking. 



Depending on the persons level of interest you will know whether they truly want to know what you have to say and will talk less and listen more.

Whatever the circumstances never forget your why and remember you don't have to be always explaining what you do and why.

Make your communication with those who would pose their questions be a learning experience as in life lessons are all around us.  How we receive and process those lessons is how we grow in whatever we choose to do.
