The Necessity of Good And Evil - Writing My Thoughts

I am prompted by my Associate's  Press Release on The Necessity of Good and Evil to write my thoughts. Interesting thought process Graham.

First I do not believe that there is the necessity for good and evil. I am sure there are those who will disagree, but this me processing my thoughts.

Second I do not believe we were born with good and evil. I believe that we were conditioned and exposed to a society in which they are created or existed.

I am reminded by somethings that my dad always said:

  • Do not believe that evil does not exist but whatever you do, do not meddle,
  • Your mind can make you and it can break you.
  • For every action there is a reaction

Hearing these and like thoughts in my formative years fashioned my thinking in very positive lights and triggered my own thought processes.

In my more mature years I have come to realize that it all is a condition of the mind. The toss up between the conscious and the subconscious. You see the conscious mind is the keeper of the gate protecting the subconscious from negativity.  Or the reverse feeding the subconscious with negativity. What the conscious mind feeds on, that is what you believe and transmit to your subconscious and the resulting effect is what happens however long it takes.

All this, reinforced by a book I am now reading about  The Power Of the Subconscious Mind  written by Joseph Murphy - A book I highly recommend.

"We injure ourselves by the negative ideas which we entertain. How often have you wounded yourself by getting angry, fearful, jealous or vengeful? These are the poisons that enter your subconscious mind. You were not born with these negative attitudes. Feed your subconscious mind life-giving thoughts, and you will wipe out all the negative patterns lodged therein. As you continue to do this, all the past will be wiped out and remembered no more."    Joseph Murphy

Throughout nature there is the law of action and reaction, of rest and of motion, ebb and flow. It is like a rhythm of life and there has to be balance.

Some will say that there is the necessity of good and evil and there is no good without evil and no evil without good. This takes me back to the conscious mind and the subconscious mind and I am thinking if we all should put out more positive energy, suggestions, thoughts, all our subconscious minds may well bring to fruition more good than evil, because we wouldn't be going around being destructive in our thoughts.

How is that possible? Think! your subconscious cannot argue. It acts only upon what you write on it or feed it and accepts the verdict of the conscious mind as final. So put in negativity and the outcome is final unless of course you set about to change your conscious thoughts. Your subconscious mind never sleeps and is your source of inspiration, where your outcome is created base on your input.

"The reason there is so much chaos and misery in the world is because people do not understand the interaction of their conscious and subconscious minds." Joseph Murphy

If you learn to be grateful for the little things in your life, are less critical of others, by taking the attitude of being constructive, showing appreciation for others, compassion and being helpful, we may well look at the  necessity of good and evil with different eyes - from a different vantage point.
