What the guru's WONT teach you about business

Heard the saying:

"Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime".

Over the years I've bought more bright,
shiny objects than I care to remember.

Some were pretty expensive too.

I don't remember ANY teaching the number ONE
fundamental marketing skill online.

Important stuff you'll learn in a 10 dollar
book on Direct Response marketing from
good old Amazon.

It's infuriating this ain't taught.

Maybe "they" just don't know.

The nutz and boltz of it is that "they"
(the gurus) don't teach you anything, certainly
not in depth and they NEVER emphasized it enough...

... how important it is to truely know and
understand your market. The people you are
trying to reach.

How many times have you gone out and looked
for a hot selling product to push as an

Picking the bestsellers on Amazon or Clickbank.

What a BACKWARD way to do your marketing.

It's stupid and it makes me genuinely angry.

Nothing ever begins with the product because
it's all about the TARGET market, the people
with the problem.

Imagine this...

You shoot on over to Amazon and find the
best selling Golf Clubs or whatever.

Then go build a site focused around those best
selling golf clubs.

Big mistake.

Think about it...

Sure you're targeting the 'potential buyers'
for the product and sure this method works.

But there's a much better way to do it.

You see the buyers aren't interested in the
golf club, they're interested in the results
that club will give them.

You have to see beyond the product.

Go deeper...

They want that state-of-the-art driver so they
can hit the ball further.

That extra big head because there's more room
for error.

Go deeper still...

They want to add yard to their drive, impress
their buddies, feel good about their ability.

Plus, even if you're 50+, it's cool to keep
up with the kids on the golf course by having
new stuff.

A little bit of vanity.

I'll be honest, I'm not a master of this stuff.

Which is ok 'cos you don't have to be to see
bigger and better results.

All you got to do is slow down for a second.

Forget products and think about the people
buying them.

[+] What are they thinking?
[+] What are they saying?
[+] What are they feeling?
[+] Whare are they hearing?

All I'm saying is 'slow down'.


The people don't exist for the products.

The products exist for the people.

Forget about studying the products, study the

When you know what the people want, you can
choose the most appropriate product and the
one they're most likely to WANT.

Instead of being the pushy salesperson
selling products, you'll be more like the
trusted friend advising the best solution.

The take-away:

Slow down and simply spend a day or two to
find out more about your market.

Learn about the people, then the products.

subscribers and better clicks on your links.
