Termination and Recovery With Management

Before starting my own business, my last job was in recovery.  I went in and recovered financial losses by turning independent franchise restaurants that was drowning in poor management back into a profitable one. I usually had a only one year to do it.

Firing an employee that was hired to do work is different than firing a store manager that you put in charge of your store operations. To protect yourself legally, documentation should be detailed in all aspects of job performance and any other reason why, such as theft or not working the required hours. You also want to make sure that you are correct and have good reason to terminate them

Before the Manager was terminated, my son, Matthew would first go in as an Assistant Manager under that Manager. His job was to listen,observe, then report and to get the responsibility of doing the truck order.

With that we could get an accurate count on inventory. Then track every item sold from a computerized list against a daily count of certain inventory considered to be high theft items.

Matthew, also paid attention to the employees and to customer service. He interacted a lot with the customers in the dining room with the hope of keeping as much of the customer base as possible when the transition occurred.

Bad Managers like to sit and visit with their customer base “excessively” so that they will gain their loyalty. Their reason being is that the company would not dare to terminate them and lose all of those customers.
