Video Marketing Statistics


Needing more avenues to create even more sales, I am looking at the different ways that I may be able to strategically use to reach out to those smartphone users. There are over 4 billion of them out there:


  • Almost two-thirds of the world’s population now has a mobile phone
  • More than 90% of the world’s internet users go online via a mobile device.
  • 150 + times a day on average is how many times a Smartphone user looks at their phones


What are the choices?

We all pretty much know, or should know and understand what SEO is and how important it is. Having a mobile friendly site should be a top priority for you if you want to experience any kind of growth.

In posts two and three, we took a good look at Social Media to determine at which ones we need to be on. With their different platforms, in the 4th post, we took a closer look at Google+ and at Snapchat in the 5th post.


Today we going to discover Video Marketing and why brands are adding video marketing to their strategy.

  • 48% of marketers plan to add YouTube to their content strategy in the next year
  • On mobile alone in an average week, YouTube reaches more 18+ year-olds during prime time TV hours than any cable TV network
  • Two-thirds of YouTube users watch YouTube on a second screen while watching TV at home
  • YouTube is more commonly used by larger businesses. For example, 71% of businesses with 100+ employees use YouTube, compared to 38% of the self-employed
  • YouTube has over a billion users, almost one-third of all people on the Internet
  • In an average month, 8 out of 10 18- to 49-year-olds watch YouTube
  • Among millennials, YouTube accounts for two-thirds of the premium online video watched across devices
  • The time people spend watching YouTube on their TV has more than doubled year over year


Product Video


  • 4X as many customers would rather watch a video about a product than read about it
  • Almost 50% of internet users look for videos related to a product or service before visiting a store
  • 53% of smartphone users feel more favorable towards companies whose mobile sites or apps provide instructional video content.
  • 4 in 5 consumers believe that demo videos are helpful. Shoppers who view video are 1.81X more likely to purchase than non-viewers


Social Video


  • 39% of marketers plan to add Facebook video to their content strategy in the next year
  • 45% of people watch more than an hour of Facebook or YouTube videos a week
  • 100 million hours of video are watched every day on Facebook
  • 82% of Twitter users watch video content on Twitter
  • 90% of Twitter video views are on mobile

Video Analytics


  • 55% of people consume video content thoroughly
  • 43% of people want to see more video content from marketers


In conclusion, looking at these figures for Video Marketing, overall the stats look good. But, since there is a cost factor with video production, I want a more detailed analysis. I also want more information on the projected growth before I make my final deciscions.
