How to use IboUrl to shorten your links and keep track of clicks on a link

Here is what we're going to be talking about:

1. Why shorten links in the first place?

2. Why do we need to keep track of clicks on a link?

3. How to do 1 & 2 step-by-step.

1. Why shorten links in the first place?

There are two answers for that question.

One, Because some platforms, for example Facebook, blocks certain links. Therefore, the only way to post a certain blocked link on FB - is to shorten it. That way Facebook doesn't recognize that the link is blocked in their data and lets you post it.

Two, because sometimes the link is not what you want it to be. For example, it might be too long, like amazon associate links for example, are TOO long. Or, for example, it might be giving away something that you don't want the person clicking on it to know (if you're promoting an MLM company for example, that has it's name in the link).

2. Why do we need to keep track of clicks on a link?

The answer is simple. Optimisation. You might be (and probably are) using the same link in more than one place. For example, you post the same link in a Facebook group and on IbotoolBox. Then, you don't know which one worked better and where to focus more. If you can track the clicks - you can create two different links and know where the traffic is coming from.

3. How to do 1 & 2 step-by-step.

Go to your Ibotoolbox.com dashboard. That's the main page that you see when you enter IBO. On the right side, click on "Ibourl".

Then, in the new page, click on the grey button on the right side "CREATE NEW IBOURL", fill in the short form (just play with it a little to see all the functions available), and walla - you have a shortened link that now also keeps track of clicks.

Another cool option, after you've already created your link, is that you can change what will be written after the link. For example, here are two links of mine that send to my business opportunity:

This is how the original one looks: www.ibourl.com/35up

Here is how the one that I have changed the ending of looks: www.ibourl.net/MyMainBusiness

Both will get you to the exact same page. I prefer using the second one, because it has more character to it, sort of.

Anyway, hope this helps. Use it! =)
