I'll start with a little story.
Last year, I was a salesperson. I called up people who were interested in my diet product and I was actually very successful.
Today, if you ask me to call up a person to try and sell something... I'd probably prefer to do (put in something horrible) instead.
Now the question is, why? And if you can answer this question, and apply it, you will achieve anything you want in life, and you will do it FAST!
The answer is Pain and Please. Last year, I associated GREAT pleasure with selling. I wanted the money, I felt good selling, I felt good communicating with people, I felt amazing when I sold my products without promising any false results, I LOVED the attention I get from the people in my MLM company and my organization.
I loved selling.
Today, I hate selling. Simply because I associate HORRIBLE pain with it. Calling up a person who doesn't know you and most likely doesn't want to be sold to, spending hours on the phone with the headache that comes from the radiation, talking to "dumb" people who don't and won't understand my amazing product...
I hate selling.
The difference? The pain or pleasure we associate with it.
In fact, this single factor controls every single part of our life. Every single one.
We've all, during our lives, have linked pain and pleasure to every single aspect of our life. Now, while phychologists would start digging deep into our childhood, I prefer just changing the association.
How do we do that?
We have to understand first, that what you focus on - gets bigger. If you focus on the pleasure something will give you, or the pain of not doing it - you will want to do it right away!
Just do this small excersize: Think of one thing you have been postponing. Now, think what pain you feel by not doing it, and what pleasure you would get by doing it? After you do that, you will feel a driving force to do it.
