Trust - A Universal Law

Since the book and movie, 'The Secret,' became a national phenomenon, many people are wondering how to trust the universe. The reason we have difficulty trusting the universe is because humankind has veered off from the source, a.k.a. the collective unconscious or universal knowledge. Humankind adopted a visible source of support--religion.

Hindu spirituality was the first to be written about. The origin of Sanskrit, the first written language, began in the Vedic age. The Aryans collected hymns, rituals and poems about their gods in the four Vedas (10th century BC) period. Rama is one of the popular figures and deities in Hinduism. It is believed that when Rama appeared, it was a million or so years ago.

Through the centuries, beginning after the 'great flood', people have come to believe that struggle, control and survival, instead of trust and collaboration with the universe is the fate of humans. Ironically, both are in existence simultaneously, because we need the yin and yang to stimulate our imagination and to prompt us to seek our highest potential.

In order to survive, humans, needed to exert control over the environment for protection from the elements. We hunted for food and invented agriculture to feed ourselves. We created a social infrastructure to protect ourselves and create communities.

There are things we cannot control, yet, we receive support from an unseen force--a universe that provides us with that which we cannot provide for ourselves. Exerting control is how humans survive and flourish as a species. However, it is also abundantly clear there are many things humans cannot control, no matter how much effort is expended. Thus, the duality of control and out of control operates simultaneously and without fail.

Therefore, we need to take responsibility for those things we can control or create. We can manifest our dreams and visions in physical form with hard work and forethought. Simultaneously, we need to let the universe work within and beside us. This requires ultimate trust. Some people refer to ultimate trust as blind trust. Ultimate trust runs deeper than just expecting things to turn out the way we envision them to be. We need to develop equanimity and grace as we learn to trust, the guiding hand of the universe. Life will unfold exactly the way we envisioned it, when we trust without doubt.

You need to remember you are engaged in an on-going relationship with the universe that is unique to you and responds to your thoughts, feelings and actions. Look, Listen and Trust all is given when you need it.

The DVD, 'Beyond the Secret,' goes into more depth on how the universal laws work and how to align with them.
