Top Ten Home Business Pitfalls

Top ten home business pitfalls can take on the old wives' admonition - "be careful what you pray for…" Who wouldn't want to work in an environment where every day is "You're the Greatest Boss Day" and "Take your Secretary to Lunch Day"? From the outside looking in, all one typically sees is perk, perk, perk. But now that I've been on the inside for a few years allow me to expose you to just the top ten home business pitfalls - forewarned is forearmed. 1. No Boss - ahh- haa! you say - and what exactly is the problem with that? There is no problem if you are a self-starter and can literally be your own boss. If you are slow to take initiative, be cautious. 2. No Ceiling - but this also means that there is no basement. You can actually go into crazy debt chasing after a pipe dream. 3. No Set Hours - Often this looks like spill over into family time or personal time - and putting up the parameters can get overlooked. 4. Open Door Policy - people tend to interrupt you all the time because they know you are at home and available to them and at their disposal. 5. Sense of Isolation - may feel left out of office politics, Christmas parties, and similar professional outings. 6. No Espirit de Corps - often there is the absence of working within a detailed strategy that is going to affect the entire unit or organization. You almost become a unit of one. 7. No Set Cash Flow - often in mlm type businesses you have to do a lot up front and get paid very little. And some people can't hold out to get to the pot of gold. 8. No Defined Workspace - if you are in a small home your space may be your bed or the kitchen table or a corner spot in the dining room. 9. Lack of Defined Mentorship - many online companies offer general support tabs and contact us buttons, but real one on one coaching is hard to find. 10. Where Has the Time Gone? Often home business owners are plagued with the "looseness of time" and they can look up and discover a whole day has gone by and they have basically spun their wheels. This means they have not spent quality time on income producing activities. As you review this list of the top ten home business pitfalls you may feel like I am peeking right through your window. The cautionary piece I want to share with you is that any ONE of these can put you in a holding pattern and stall out your business growth. We do not want another failed home based business owner - that's just not good for our numbers. Want to not only avoid the top ten home business pitfalls but operate at a level of great productivity, fulfillment, and profit? Click here: http://www.coachkimmcdaniel.com and let's stop romanticizing and start building your home based empire - brick by brick. To Your Mounting Success, Coach Kim
