Money... Right up there with Oxygen

That's one of Zig Ziglar's famous lines…. "money isn't everything, but it ranks right up there with oxygen." How could you disagree with that? We know that money creates opportunities, options, escapes, and a sense of freedom. It's like when money comes in, worry scampers out, almost like they do not coexist. Money sits the accuser down and gives power to the one possessing it. So much power in tiny rectangles of currency. Why is it so? Because of what those rectangles are exchanged for. The security is not in the money per se, but in the education, the shelter, the get-aways - those are the things that actually create the security and the escape. Money is just the handle that moves the shovel, that digs up a better life for us. It bewilreds me when people say that money is the root of evil. That is an inaccurate statement. The Biblical quote is "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). Loving an inanimate object puts you in the precarious position of putting money before people and relationships. Money is fine as long as you make it serve you and not the other way around. The Bible also says, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" (Matthew 16:26). This is supremely relevant because this is yet another way to remind us to invest in the things that are not fleeting and false-bottomed. Money in most societies tends to present some bait and switch options, luring us to focus on the minors and not the majors. I say, get your money, be a blessing, make a difference, and call it a day. When you use your money to build up people, your legacy becomes never ending. To Your Cup Running Over Success, Coach Kim 2010 Blessings 410.205.6003
