3 Critical Mistakes Made by the New Christian, Part 1

Stepping into the Christian path is an individual decision. You will be held accountable for your eternal destination and lodging. You cannot stand on the shoulders of another and say, I made this choice because of "so and so". That is not acceptable because God has given each of us free will and the ability to make our own individual choices. So.... You come to the most important decision of your life and you do it on your own. And here is where the tables are turned. Your Christian walk does not have to be one in isolation. As a matter of fact, Hebrews 10:25 says "forsake NOT the assembling of yourselves together." This means that as Christians we are supposed to stick together. We are to come together to encourage one another and to teach one another. To lift each other up and to push each other on. To lean on one another. To pray for one another. Yes, the call to Christ is an individual call but the journey is one that is relational - it can thrive with the support and outreach of your sisters and brothers. I have heard older folks say it this way - “the one thing that would make me happy when I leave here is to know that my children are getting along with each other.” Recognizing what to do is one map to success. It is equally important to know what NOT to do - what to avoid, in order to steer clear of failure. To make mistakes because you don’t know any better is an uncontrollable event; but to know better and choose to go your own way - that is no longer a coincidence - it becomes a willful choice of disobedience. Isaiah 61:1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound." I didn’t know vs. I will not grow There is a BIIIIGG difference. Remember, it all comes down to your choice, your future, your life. How shall you design it? Stay tuned for the second part of Critical Mistakes Made by New Christians... I just wanted to introduce you to the concept that Christians, though saved, still do make mistakes. All the Best, Coach Kim
