Facebook Reaction Emoticons

Remember a few months ago when Facebook added these little fellows to our streams and we could use them instead of just a Like? I know I loved them and thought they could have added a few more. The Angry Button comes pretty close to a dislike.

I recently read an article on Mashable brought to my attention by my friend Len I found it very interesting. Seems like Facebook is using this as a way to gauge your true interest in what you are reading in your newsfeed. If you want to read the whole article it is here.

So, the fact you are just liking something and not using one of the Reactions does not send a strong signal to the Facebook Algorithm that you really care to see these things. The article also says it does not matter which one you use (at least right now) the algorithm does not care which one it is.

I also noticed on my Fan page that in my notifications there is a separate category when someone uses a reaction.  It goes into an "other" category. So that leads me to believe that your Fan Page will also have a better reach if more of the Reactions on used on Fan Pages also.

I hope you found some value in this and keep in mind if you just use a like Facebook is not listening. So if you see any of my stuff be sure to use one of the other buttons even if it is angry :)
