Fail - Learn - Adapt - Succeed

  • Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
  • Thomas Edison is quoted “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
  • President Teddy Roosevelt said, “The only man who NEVER makes a mistake is the man who NEVER does anything.”

People tend to hide their “failures”. For many people, the feeling of shame fuels the inclination to stop what’s not working well.

On the other hand, all successful people have had failures, Usually a LOT of them.

They often leave a trail of "could have been successes" on their journey to real success.

Many people, unfortunately, STOP after a failure. But, for those with the character to persevere, failure represents a chance to gain knowledge that can be applied to their next attempt.

You may be aware of the story of the Baseball great - Babe Ruth - and his “stats”.

“The Babe” had more strikeouts than home runs, yet he is remembered as the "Sultan of Swat," one of baseball's greatest.

In 1940, at the "Battle of Dunkirk", Britain got their butts historically kicked, but then went on to win World War II.

Abraham Lincoln was born to a poor family and was raised in a dirt-floor log cabin on the outskirts of pioneer America. He failed in business, was defeated several times while running for Congress, he lost his sweetheart, he suffered a nervous breakdown, he lost two bids for the Senate, and was defeated in a run for the vice presidency before being elected president of the United States in 1860, then…

He went on to be, perhaps, THE most impactful President in history...

You can “suffer a defeat”, lower your expectations and/or abandon your dreams. OR…

You can learn from your experiences, adjust with the knowledge of what “didn’t work” and help others learn to fail without fear.

That’s YOUR choice (and mine)

Teach your audience by example. I fail all the time, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. But I acknowledge that math and time are in my favor.

In his book Bringing Out the Best in People, Alan Loy McGinnis says…

"If leaders can teach people how to handle failure creatively, it may be the most important contribution they can make."

If YOUR life has had temporary failures, Don’t get stuck dwelling on them. Learn from them and move forward. Success really does favors those who persist.

Hope that you realize that WE are greatly blessed and highly favored

PS - If you are an average Entrepreneur you probably deal with several hundred distractions in your average week. Simpleology is a program that helps Entrepreneurs stay “on track” and focused on what’s most important. If you haven’t found a great coach or program to keep YOU “on track”, Simpleology has a great free trial that convinced me to become a “raving fan”. You can take a look here
