Lessons from Puerto Rico

For additional information  Click Here

There WAS a $470 million dollar payment due today.

It was on bonds that the Puerto Rico Government has issued and…

They missed the payment.

When you or I make a late payment on our car, our rent, the loan on our furniture or a credit card it’s….

Embarrassing and expensive…

Not so with the mess that Puerto Rico is in. The citizens have decided that the problems of the government are NOT their problems…

“On Monday, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew renewed his call on Congress to act swiftly, warning in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan that without a legal framework for a debt restructuring, Puerto Rico is in danger of getting caught in “a series of cascading defaults” that could lead to a taxpayer bailout.” source Bloomberg

46 percent of Puerto Ricans are living below the US government’s definition of “poverty level” versus only 14 percent of the rest of America.

Citizens of Puerto Rico are leaving the island “in droves”. The folks that leave in these “melt downs” are not the average citizen, it’s the top 20 percent….

The Professionals like doctors, lawyers, veterinarians, financial planner and “the like” are fleeing to Europe, Asia and the USA.

They are NOT going to be around when the “lights are turned off”...

Real Estate is dropping in value on a weekly basis. As more quality people try to “dump” their house at whatever they can get for it, the prices of all real estate in Puerto Rico is dropping.

It’s a “death spiral”.

Nobody wins - everybody loses…

That’s the future of the USA too, unless we change the narrative..

We have millions of Americans living ‘on the dole” that do NOT deserve it.

We have to stop that.

We have a political party - the Democrat Party - that play on, bank on, operate on getting people organized to demand welfare…

We have to stop that too.

Stealing from one group to pay another group will always fail in the long term but it will win elections from the folks who benefit from the stealing…

It’s not too late to save America - but’s it’s close (in my opinion)

The lesson from Puerto Rico is really pretty simple. Don’t spends more than you take in. Don’t give people “something for nothing”. Don’t “rob from Peter to pay Paul”.

Over the last 7 years we’ve double the debt that these kids will have to pay back and made it increasingly difficult for them to find any meaningful job.

American’s will be voting in November for a President. That’s important but it’s not nearly as important as voting for our kids and grandkids future.

Pay attention to what’s going on in Puerto Rico. It’s NOT going to get better here (or there) if we buy in to the Democrat Party message of steal from one group to buy votes from another group.

People should help each other because they want to, not because they are forced too…

As for me….

I’m greatly blessed and highly favored. Not because I deserve it but because God favors all of us miscreants…
