Why I outsource to the Philippines

I value self-discipline, but creating systems that make it next to impossible to misbehave is more reliable than self-control.” - Tim Ferriss (author of the 4 hour workweek)

I both loved & hated the book “the 4 hour work week” when it was published back in 2007. Authored by then unknown entrepreneur and business owner Tim Ferriss, the book was a testimonial to the value and power of outsourcing.

For me it was also a “wake up” call of sorts because I knew that my business was stagnant due to my lack of outsourcing expertise. I wasn’t good at hiring or managing people and I knew it.

In 25 years of being in business for myself in America I had some really regrettable experiences. For example…

  • In 1984, after I had $5,000 stolen by employees in my insurance agency I fired all 3 of the women working for me and hired 1 guy I trusted to do their work which he handled for one half the cost. The 3 women filed a federal discrimination lawsuit against me because I hired a man to replace the 3 of them. The lawsuit was thrown out by a judge with a brain but it was enlightening to me.  It cost me a LOT of time and money.
  • In 2004, I had a trusted employee steal my contact list, go to work for one of my competitors and for several months pretend she was still working for me. I had no recourse because I had been too busy to make sure she had signed the appropriate “non-compete” documents. This incident also cost me a lot of time and money.
  • In 2007, another employee, who kept my books, stole a few thousand dollars from my company's payroll tax accounts. That one cost me $12,000 out of my pocket and although I had insurance I couldn’t collect.

When you outsource to the Philippines you eliminate a LOT of the problems I’ve experienced. If you use a service, like I do with 123 Employee, you also insulate yourself from many of the management and security issues.

It’s cheaper - by a LOT.

Full time help will cost you $42 a day at 123 Employee. If you can gross $100 a day utilizing that employee, even with $8 a day in “other” costs you can profit $50 a day. That’s enough to live well in 80 percent of the world.

When you hire help you help those you hire but you probably help yourself MUCH more.

Greatly blessed - highly favored & eternally grateful

Bill Bateman - (that’s like Batman with an “E” in the middle you’ll hear me say when we talk on the phone)

PS - if you like what you see at 123 Employee they will generally give you 10 hours free as a trial. Just ask
