My New book, The Bucket Philosophy - coming soon

To all my dear associates here on the IBO platform/ social media and further afield, I am in need of your input for research purposes. I'm currently writing a book called 'The Bucket Philosophy' (working title). The book is inspired by a recent press release/blog ‘A Bucket Full Just For You’, which received very favorable feedback. You can read the original press release/blog here to get a better picture.

Now that you have read the original PR/blog, this is how you can assist in my research.

In order to create a book of quality and real value to you the reader, it is important for me to gauge your thoughts on a couple of questions.

You may be familiar with the expression  'a bucket list' -  in short, a bucket list represents  all the things you would like to do before leaving this earth, conquering your ambitions, fears or life-long held dreams for example.

In my new book under the chapter heading ‘The Bucket Twist', I explore a slightly different angle (hence the use of the word 'twist'). So what's the twist you ask? Well, instead of focusing on the things you want to 'do' before you expire, I’m asking you to identify 'who do you want to be', before you leave this earth.

Imagine for a moment that every part of your personality is represented by a bucket. Some buckets are very useful and serve you well while others do the opposite.

Question;

If you could have buckets full of specific character strengths and virtues, which would you choose and specifically, which would be your top 3?

Visualise the 3 buckets in front of you and ask yourself the question, 'Which of these qualities would most enhance my life; therefore making me more of the person I want to be'?

Here are a few suggestions, though these are all great virtues to have in abundance, please prioritize your 3 most desirable. Of course you can include qualities not mentioned on the list below.

I would like a bucket full of...

Courage

Ambition

Decisiveness

Enthusiasm

Compassion

Calmness

Bravery

Adventure

Health

Creativity

Generosity

Inventiveness

Imagination

Positivity

Kindness

Loving

Passion

Confidence

Resourcefulness

Peace and contentment

Knowledge

Energy

Self-respect

Leadership

Honesty

Discipline

Spirituality

Intelligence

In contrast to the first question, which of the following characteristic weaknesses would you like to reduce significantly (Empty your bucket of) Again, please choose 3 or include others not mentioned on the list.

I would like to empty my bucket of...

Guilt

Fear

Anger

Selfishness

Greed

Worry

Addiction

Shame

Depression

Blame

Jealousy

Hopelessness

Ignorance

Loneliness

Arrogance

Ego

Shyness

Cynicism

Pessimism

Aggression

Unworthiness

"Fill what's empty. Empty what's full.

Scratch where it itches".

Alice Roosevelt Longworth

Was it difficult to choose which buckets to fill and which to empty?

The good news is, you already know the answers. Your inner voice, intuition, whatever you choose to call it, is well aware of exactly which buckets need the most attention. When you listen to that inner voice, you are acting on instinct and scratching where it itches. So don't second guess your choices, go with the flow.

I appreciate your honesty and cooperation on the subject. Please leave your answers in the comment section of the PR, or send me a private message with your answers. I look forward to your feedback.

Thank you again for taking the time to read and comment on this post. I am excited about The Bucket Philosophy. What started out as a simple idea is now manifesting into reality. I will keep you updated with progress reports and value your support and encouragement.

Bev Austin

I wish you Happiness, Health and Wealth.
